Water Parameters: pH 6.5 - 7.5 gH 8 - 12 kH 0 - 5 TDS 250 - 300 Temperature 68 - 78F Difficulty: Easy Blue Velvet shrimp should be kept in a well established shrimp only tank with plenty of biofilms for them to graze on. 12 Cherry Shrimp - Neocaridina +2 Marimo Moss Balls

Chery Shrimp are a great and affordable addition to the aquarium hobby. They are easy to care for and will breed prolifically in ideal water parameters. These Cherry Shrimp are a great start into the ornamental invertebrate world. They are known as cleanup crews and will go after leftover foods, algae, and any detritus in the bottom of your tank. To supplement their diet, we recommend sinking crumble foods twice a day. We highly recommend adding cherry shrimp to planted tanks with a handful of snails such as Nerites to help keep down algae and clean up any food the ravenous shrimp may have missed. If you have just started your research into Cherry Shrimp and other freshwater shrimps, you will probably have come across terms like Grades, Cherry, Sakura, Fire Red, and Painted. The "grade" of a shrimp refers to the coloration and appearance the respective shrimp is placed in. Regular "cherry" shrimp exhibit some reds, pinks, and patches of translucent along their bodies where large breeding females and adults get a solid red/pink coloration. In the picture you can see the variance in coloration based on one net scoop from a breeding colony. With higher grades come deeper and more solid reds, but at a much higher cost. Our cherry shrimp are bred here at our hatchery and we send you t...
SHRIMP BUBBLE Self Sustaining Semi Closed Aquatic Ecosystem -

SHRIMP BUBBLE Self Sustaining Semi Closed Aquatic Ecosystem Kit

The Shrimp Bubble is a viable symbiotic aquatic shrimp ecosystem that self-sustains for an extended period of time. It contains live marine shrimp, live algae and microorganisms. All composing elements exist and interact with each other in an attractively designed, high quality clear glass bubble filled with filtered brackish water. No frequent water changes, No daily feeding, No water filtration. Just provide your Shrimp Bubble with indirect natural or artificial light and enjoy observing its gradual development. How it works: The algae use light and carbon dioxide to produce glucose and oxygen. The oxygen is liberated into the water and is used by the shrimp for breathing. The shrimp feed on algae and microorganisms and release waste and carbon dioxide into the water. Microorganisms feed on shrimp's waste and brake it down into dissolved simple inorganic nutrients. The algae use the nutrients and the carbon dioxide for growth, thus closing the symbiotic cycle. The greatest benefit of the semi-closed Shrimp Bubble Ecosystem is that one is able to remove the top and, every once in awhile feed the shrimp for a boost of extra energy or intervene to maintain good water quality if the system goes off balance, thus increasing the chances of a long term success. One may also recharge the...

EcoSphere Closed Aquatic Ecosystem, Small -

EcoSphere Closed Aquatic Ecosystem, Small Sphere

Small Sphere Ecosphere. This fascinating enclosed world contains 3 to 4 marine shrimp, algae and micro-organisms. Made from hand blown glass, each Ecosphere is a completely enclosed, self-sustaining little world. The Ecosphere only needs indirect light and comfortable room temperature (between 60F and 80F.) The Ecosphere works on the basis that a closed system recycles its nutrients and does not produce excess waste. The shrimp consume the algae and micro-organisms and they, in turn, break down the shrimp waste. External light, either artificial or natural, keeps the algae growing. There is no feeding or water changes required. Each Ecosphere comes with a replacement, recharge or upgrade policy.

Aquatic Arts 5 Live Freshwater Blue Velvet Shrimp (Neocaridina davidi - 1/4 to 1 inch Breeding Age Adults)

Blue Velvet Shrimp are a rare and colorful addition to any freshwater aquarium! Care is the same as Red Cherry Shrimp and they are just as prolific, but these are a striking cerulean blue color. RECOMMENDED TANK PARAMETERS: - pH level range: 6.5 to 7.5 - Temperature range: 72 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit - Water type: Soft or hard, as long as it remains stable - Recommended Aquatic Arts tank mates: Other types of dwarf shrimp (such as Sakura Fire Red Cherry Shrimp, Neon Yellow Shrimp, Amano Shrimp, etc.), various types of snails (such as Nerite Snails, Sulawesi Snails, etc.). They can also be kept with small to medium-sized, non-aggressive fish. - Additional notes: Relatively easy to care for - similar to other dwarf shrimp species. Dwarf shrimp prefer to live in tanks with live aquatic plants (such as java moss, willow hygro, green cabomba, etc.). This is because dwarf shrimp like the cover that plants provide, they love to graze on the plants for algae, and the plants help keep the water clean for them.

12 Live Amano Shrimp (Caridina multidentata) Best algae eating shrimp in the hobby!

The Amano shrimp is a great addition if you are looking for an invertebrate to help clean your tank. They were introduced into the aquarium hobby by the legendary tank designer Takashi Amano in the early 1980's. They are commonly referred to as Japanese Shrimp, Yamato Shrimp, and Amano's Shrimp. These shrimp are originally from freshwater streams in Japan and Taiwan. We recommend using these shrimp in a well planted tank for controlling algae growth. Caution should be taken to have a secured lid due to their tendency to climb. These shrimp can be added with other shrimp but caution should be taken when adding with fish, fish will most likely eat them.
